| Rasmussen Makes an Albatross and Hole-in-One |
Michael Rasmussen, a senior from Midland, Texas, shot an albatross at Riverside Hills Golf Course on March 8 during a high school tournament.
An albatross, also known as a double eagle, is a rare occurence on the golf course - much rarer than the hole-in-one. To make a double eagle requires acing a par-4 hole or scoring 2 on a par-5. The odds of accomplishing this feat are 1 in 6 million.
After a 312 yard drive on the par-5 hole #12, Michael holed out by hitting a 5-iron from 193 yards.
Two weeks later, Michael made a hole-in-one at Greentree Country Club. Using a seven iron, he aced hole #2, a 168 yard par-3.
Congratulations on two very extraordinary accomplishments!
